Feeling Stuck?

Micah 7:18-19 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgressions of the remnant of his inhereitance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

Sometimes we feel so stuck in the mud and mess of our sin, past sin even, that we struggle to pull out of self-pity and self-blame. In Micah 7, God tells us what he does with our transgressions. He “hurls them into the depths of the sea” remembering them no more! But we don’t so easily forget. We find ourselves stuck, sometimes because we can’t fully grasp forgiveness of and for ourselves, and other times because we live in the reaping stream of our behavior. But consider this, we may have to contend in the physical realm with the consequences of our past, but in the spiritual realm, the heavenly realm, we are completely free! Our spirit doesn’t wallow in the mud like our soul sometimes does. So here’s the question…What are you going to wallow in? Are you putting your energy into the struggle of your circumstances or into the freedom only found in God’s heavenly realm? Because of the redemptive blood of Jesus and indwelling of Holy Spirit, we can wallow in complete freedom, mercy and compassion while we clean up our messes!
